Stable and it Does Record Audio - In Use at Major Prod Companies
This software does what it is supposed to do and does it really well. It does not record all forms of audio so you do need to install a second audio component called Sound Siphon (by same developer) so that the sound source can be targeted and be recorded but its free if you buy IRIS. This is NOT A FLAW in the software. Mavericks and Yosemite changed the way audio is handled within OS X and completely rendered other screen recorder software totally useless. If this recorded “ALL” audio out of the box Apple would not allow it in the App Store due to their agreements with content owners and the licensing terms of DRM protection schemes. Sound Siphon gets around that restriction by being downloaded off the developers website and installed like a third party plugin.
If you need to record off the internet or within other apps that do not port sound as an system output this is one of the best and cheapest solutions out there and it offers ProRes so I can grab video and drop right on the timeline in Final Cut or AVID.
If you get no sound or garbled audio its most likely your OS or the video playback software that is causing it not IRIS or Sound Siphon. Some software deliberately prevents you from recording the audio as a general obstacle to prevent unauthorized duplication.
This App is Free with video Watermarking/Ad Overlay, so you can try it and demo its functions. $25 in app purchase removes the watermarks. Similar software from other companies start at $69 and up…. A big thank you for the option to try before you buy.
